VHDG Art Market

Yes, it’s happening: our very first VHDG Art Market! Between our exhibitions, we love shining a spotlight on local talent and emerging artists. And if we want to give them space—why not literally open up our beautiful space for them?

So, on Friday, March 28 at 5:00 PM, we’re opening our doors for this brand-new concept: the VHDG Art Market. A place where artists and makers present their work. Where you can look, discover, meet, and, of course, take something beautiful home with you. From screen prints and textiles to paintings and jewelry, every edition will bring something new. During the opening, there will also be an audiovisual performance by Luz Mercedes. Makers VHDG Art Market #1 We are very proud to introduce the amazing participants of this first edition: Hugo Tekstra, Fleur Stoltenborgh, Marije Dijkstra, Alex Weening, Christina Everts, Ruth Stellingwerf, Luz Mercedes, Marijke Klamer, and Lennard Jager. We’re thrilled to have them on board!

After the festive opening, all works will remain on display (and for sale!) until April 12. Come by, support local talent, and be surprised!

Scan & shop! Everything you buy goes directly to the makers—how great is that? That’s why we only use QR codes—cash payments are not possible. So, don’t forget to bring your phone! Want to join the next Art Market as an artist? Sign up for our newsletter and be the first to know when the open call goes live!

VHDG Connect The Art Market is part of VHDG Connect, our new annual program supporting and developing emerging artists. In 2025, multiple projects will launch for (early-career) artists from the Northern Netherlands, focusing on networking, growth, and inspiration. Interested? During the Art Market opening, Lola Diaz Cantoni, project leader of VHDG Connect, can tell you all about it. Seriously, she knows everything!
